Inspiring classrooms

Our partner organization in Nepal is Kakshyalaya (the name loosely translates into English as “inspiring classrooms”). Kakshyalaya promotes schooling that nurtures the intellectual, physical, social and emotional well-being of every child. Together with principals, teachers, parents and others from the local community, we create positive classroom environments that inspire both students and their teachers to learn and grow.

Working closely with rural communities

Kakshyalaya was founded in 2018 to empower teachers and develop long-term relationships with rural communities. We provide sustainable teaching resources and infrastructure support to community schools in remote, rural areas. Our teacher training program emphasizes modeling and experiential practices.

Teachers are our most valuable resource

When it comes to quality education, no other factor—budget, class size or curriculum—is more important than teachers. We believe that the best means of improving community (or “public”) schools in Nepal is to provide teachers with support and professional development.
